I write this while staying in a Hotel that isn’t worth what i paid for every night i’m going to stay. I’m writting rant in English because i have been reading a lot of posts in this language, and also, to try and practice if i can still do it right.
I have been postponing (is that the right word? I don’t know and i’m so irritated that i will overlook it, tell me later in the comments) writing a new post of my story since i don’t really know a way to continue it. My laptop is broken beyond repair and I have 2 options, buy a new one, or pay a lot of money for a computer that has like 5 years. Since i choose to buy a new one i won’t be writting long post to this site, but even so, i will be writing more frequently (I swear this time is real).
In the other hand, since the time i moved back to my home town it seems i can’t get enough material to write anything new (I would like to think that it’s because i’m having a peaceful life, but i know that’s not true). So i’m leaving that story for some time far in the future and i will be writing a new one in a really short time (Again, i swear this time i will do it within 2 weeks or less). If you know of a great idea to do so, tell me and i would be try to do my best. Those blog entries will be in Spanish, because i don’t have the confidence to run a long story in English.
Well, that’s all in this post, i hope there’s someone still waiting for me to write something new. Even if there’s no one giving me comments i will write 2 short stories and if i don’t receive any comunication, that’s all with this blog.
See you all later, if you are still there.
Hi Tony!
‘Postponing’ is the right verb and gerund form, but it’s far more common to see ‘put off’ as the word used to indicate that kind of action; nonetheless, you got correct.
Now let’s move on to the constructive observations (my own euphemism to imply a criticism xD) about your ‘English rant’. Note that by no means I’m an expert in the field or fluid enough, though I would like to share my views into the subject:
-”…this time is real…” should be “…this time is FOR real…”.
-”In the other hand” is gramatically wrong; “ON the other hand” is the right expression.
-”Home town” is spelled frequently as one word but the other way around is completely acceptable.
-Overall you got a nice impression of the English language, carefully choosing not to overflow the entry with false cognates and literal translations, which by itself is a very good approach to practice of the language.
Speaking about the actual topic of your post, how much was the hotel bill? Did they have additional benefits covered by it such as meals, breakfast bar, room service or anything like that? How many nights did you stay in? Anyway I hope you have had lots of fun in your travel, though it’s a shame to read that the hotel was one of the lamest experiences out of everything you did.
In respect of the blog, you ought to type more often in English: that way you’re becoming more aware of your own skills with the language and at the same time earning confidence in yourself. It’s even hilarious when you begin to notice and rectify your own grammar mistakes!
I’m leaving for the moment. Take care Tony and see you later, maybe via Live Messenger to arrange a Mario Kart race or a Pokémon battle. By the way, the semester hasn’t finished for me yet U_U.
Thanks for your comments, i will take into account every suggestion you gave me.
The hotel bill was around $1200 for 2 nights, and that was because i was ussing a special discount that i got using a membership from an acquaintance. They offered me, apart from a really lame breakfast, free transportation the last day i was staying because i was left behind because i overslept and didn’t get to go with the people i went. Anyway, it was a fun trip even though there were some moments i wanted to leave because of some lame action stupid people sometimes do.
Hope you finish your semester without problems, and i also expect to be able to have a nice online match to have some fun.
